The Season Sets Sail:
Despite Valentines Day, mid-winter break, and people leaving on
vacation, our team pushed forward. With competition coming up at
the end of March, our team is putting in some serious elbow grease
with the robot. Our students have spent each evening working on
the robot, facing the season head on! To begin, design finished up
their work on the robot. They worked on a mechanism allowing the
robot to climb, and are now working on any little edits necessary.
They then sent the design to our build sub-team, who made great
effort in building the physical robot and troubleshooting any
problems that came up. Our electrical team wired the chassis, intake,
and shooter for the robot, and lastly, the robot is sent off to
programming with other teams on stand-by in case of emergency.
The team has worked hard, and our hard efforts are finally coming
into fruition!
Sub-Teams in Depth:
Throughout the week, each team has worked on
revamping certain things on the robot. In
electrical, the students worked on schematics and
had to fix a soldering issue. They worked together
to list pros and cons of soldering vs a mini power
distribution panel. In build, the team had to figure
out how to reduce the weight of the robot. This
took a lot of time and thought in searching for a
viable material that would be lighter than what we
already had. In the end, the team put their heads
together to conclude a good alternative.
programming has also put a lot of work into the robot. The
programming team had to work on and off on the robot as issues
began to reoccur. Programming has gotten done with the swerve
drive and has now moved onto the Limelight. All in all, each team
has had their own issues but has had no problem resolving them and
working together.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT:
Emma Pagliaroli - Kettering
Emma is one of our business members, and she has done a lot
for our team. Every day, she always brings a silly and unserious
personality, making our team feel more like a family. Emma
always makes the best jokes and doesn’t let anyone dim her
light. Although we will miss her so much, we are so excited to
mention that Emma has chosen to go to Kettering for college!
Alayna Robins - University of Texas at Austin
Alayna is also one of our business members, and we are so
proud to announce that she will be attending the University of
Texas in her upcoming year. She has done so much for our
team. She brings a sense of fun while still being mature and
reasonable. She always talks in a way that makes her unique,
and always makes everyone laugh. We will miss her.
Anthony Serra - University of Cincinnati
Anthony, like the others, is also one of our business
members. A lot of our business team is leaving for college,
and we are sad to see Anthony being one of them. Anthony
has always taken on a lot for our team and brought good
proposals to the table. He has always been mature and kept
out team intact while also taking on his other commitments.
He always has the funniest comebacks, and we are so proud
of him and his decision to go to the University of Cincinnati.
