Training

Before the start of our next season, we have been putting a focus on training our newer members on the skills they will need to succeed. We host several training sessions for each of our sub-teams to learn the skills they need to build robots in the competition season. In addition, we have had team contacts come in to guest speak at our training sessions! Right now, our students are building 3 practice robots to finish training and prepare for kickoff on January 10th.

Macomb Reads

At the Macomb Intermediate School District’s Reading Festival, our team showed off FIRST and STEM to families from Macomb County. We taught kids how to use our M-Bots, and ran matches for the kids to have some friendly competition! We brought our 2024 and 2025 robots to show-off FIRST, as well as let anyone try driving. This event reached over 3,000 people and is a foundation for the work we do with the MISD.

Hack-a-thon

During Hack-a-thon we invite people to solder toys for the kids with disabilities and have FUN with our robots. We used our “Ditto” robot from 2024 PLUS our (very entertaining) Cublets! We hack the toys to turn an itty bitty switch into a larger and more accessible button. They were wrapped and are being donated to local schools for accessibility before the holidays.

Robo Warriors FTC 39676

This year, I.AM.Robot started a FTC team at Endeavor Middle School in the New Haven District. Our students mentored them throughout the season and provided all of the funds for their registration and robot. This is a huge step for our team’s outreach in the FIRST community, because we are spreading FIRST to other schools in Macomb County.
