Kickoff - Reefscape

As the new season starts, Team 4810 came together to learn the rules and come up with strategies for the new game, titled Reefscape. To score points, you must put coral on a reef, remove algae from the reef, and climb the cage at the end. 

To help come up with strategies for the season, we worked with team 6099, the Knight Riders. We passed around ideas and strategies with each other to, in the end, create a solid robot capable of competing and winning competitions. Our primary goal for this season is to make it to states.

Current Robot Progress

The first step in building our robot is design. Our Design team is hard at work this month, planning carefully for our robot to complete all of the goals that we decided on during Kickoff. Additionally, our build team is taking apart last year’s robot for us to use to practice our coding and driving.

Along with the robot, we built a full practice field made of wood donated by some of our sponsors. It will be used to prototype our robot, and we invite other teams who need to use it. The build team was able to finish the field within the month, and they built the chassis for the robot as well.

While our team is hard working 6 days a week, we still manage to have fun. Our students use their newly learned problem solving skills to get out of tight spaces!
